COMMEMORATION TO HELMUT LECHNER

The 46th INPC was held after the 25 years for the first time without his long years' Austrian Secretary General, esteemed and beloved by the participants of the many years' Pula meetings, Professor Helmut Lechner. A Commemoration to Professor Lechner was organized during the Opening ceremony: the speakers were Kuratorium members Professors Barac, Lanner, Hotujac and Vodušek.

On the evening of the Opening ceremony a Concert was organized for the participants of the Congress, dedicated to the Memory of Professor Lechner. In the previous years he insisted on the concerts with the classical music or the folklore performance, stressing that this is the best connection among people, an emotional mutual understanding of individuals of various nations, religions or races. On this tradition an evening concert was organized with a program of classical works of Carl Maria von Weber, Felix Mendelsohn-Bartholdy and France Poulenc, and was performed by the Trio Weber from Pula.

Helmut Lechner was also commemorated on some other occasions during the Congress.

To all these events attended the widow of Professor Lechner Mrs Maria Theresa Lechner. At the end of the Congress she addressed the organizers and participants of the Congress expressing her gratitude for the honors and love presented on the Congress to her beloved husband.

To all social parts of the Program, Opening and Closing ceremony, and to the Commemoration of the Honorary President and the long years' Secretary General Lechner, attended also the widow of the first INPS Secretary General Ass. Professor Gerald Grinschgl, Mrs Traude Grinschgl, invited by the Kuratorium.

We look forward to welcoming you in Pula, Croatia! The Administrative Secretariat is pleased to assist you with further details.
